Timberlake's Visit

Yesterday we visited Fort Loudoun for the 250th Anniversary of Henry Timberlake’s Visit to the Cherokee.

There was a reenactment of the visit. We all liked hearing the Cherokee language.

The women brought food to the men after they had all agreed to be "brothers." It was really hot out, and that watermelon sure looked good.

Afterward, we listened to a cartographer tell about his trade.

  1. Oh I hate we missed that! I love their living history events. The Christmas one is my favorite. The kids all look they've grown a few inches!!

  2. oooh fun! Its a little hot to go to any living history stuff here (I can hear my kids complaining now). There's a bit of a hike to get there. I'll just live vicariously through you. :-)
