A Unique Easter
We had a very different sort of Easter this year. It was a wonderful thing that my parents were here to create some Easter fun for the kids. My mom colored eggs with them. Then she and my dad went and bought some goodies for an egg hunt and Easter baskets. It was really such a blessing to have them here to dote on the kids while I was consumed with baby. On top of that, my mom did a lot of cleaning and cooking. After my parents left Sunday morning, Jeremiah killed and cooked one of our roosters. About 5 of our 20 chickens turned out to be males, and there wasn't much point in feeding them all. So we ate one. That was a first for us. Then we sat outside in the sun and the kids played with cars and rode their bikes. A unique Easter celebration for sure. In the midst of the oddities, though, there was a new little life, a tangible illustration of the new life we have in Christ because of His death and resurrection.
"Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." ~Romans 6:4
