Trees, Geometry, and Bowling

We've been learning more about trees. Here are a few of the little projects the kids worked on last week.
Measuring the height of a tree using proportionality. This pine tree measured 36'.

Dropping pine cones in cold water caused them to close up. Putting them in the oven made them open up again.

Measuring this years branch growth.

Drawing the parts of a branch.

Drawing the parts of the trunk.

Identifying and drawing a tree and doing bark and leaf rubbings.

More geometry.

The drawings are getting more complex.

GeoGems.

Bowling at a birthday party.
