Painting, playing games, reading, sewing with the AHG troop, watercolor lanterns, legos with friends, chalk, window stars, dyeing silks (lots of good stuff from Childhood Magic), and bath towels are all brightening up these winter days.
And so is looking forward. . .

"I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it. Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life." ~Revelation 21:22-27

Vittles For Littles: Hamburger Pizza Pie

Here's an easy recipe from good ol' Betty Crocker, slightly adjusted. Everybody wanted to help with this one.
You need:
1 lb. ground beef
1 egg
1/2 tsp. dried oregano, basil, or Italian seasoning
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. mushrooms*
1 small green pepper*
1/3 c. pepperoni*
1 c. spaghetti sauce
1 c. mozzarella
*You can pretty much add any pizza toppings you like in any amount you want.

The kids and the stuff:

Heat oven to 400. In a large bowl, put the beef,

and seasoning.

Mix well.

Pat into a 9" deep dish pie plate.

Slice your mushrooms . . .

and spread them on top of the meat mixture.
Photobucket

Add green peppers. We had some already chopped in the freezer from our garden.
Photobucket

Add pepperoni.
Photobucket

Pour sauce over top. Bake 25 minutes or until beef is cooked through. Drain off grease by pressing a small plate directly onto the food and tipping up the whole pie plate.
Photobucket

Grate the cheese.
Photobucket

Add to top of dish. Bake an additional 5-10 minutes or until cheese is golden.

And that's it! Supper is served!
