  3. So when you have them nature journal, do you let them just pick out what they want to draw or do you have specific things/topics you are looking for?? :D

  4. Last year, nature journaling was kind of random. Sometimes I would just tell them to go draw something in their nature journals when I needed them to go do something. Right now, we've started apologia Botany. I had them draw a leaf with the midrib, then one showing the veins. They drew examples of the different classifications of plants - nonvascular, angiosprems, etc. I'll be doing a post sometime about what we've been doing for botany. However, since they had the journals out anyway, they were inspired to draw other things they saw, like the fungus and the cricket - which is absolutely great. When we started doing nature journals, Miah didn't really get the concept of drawing what you see in nature; she always liked to make up things to draw. So now we have nature drawings in the nature journal - a good thing. :)

  5. Ok...thanks, Sarah! I have the same making up things going on here... ;) I just ordered Apologia science too! But we are doing ocean stuff as that is what Annie asked to learn about! :)
