One hour of picking - and eating - equals 62 1/2 pounds of strawberries.
And strawberry shortcake for dessert.
Several hours of washing and cutting equals a good supply of strawberries in the freezer.

  1. Did you all go to the Fruit & Berry Patch? Did they still have plenty of strawberries? We won't be able to go until next week...if they have any left.

  3. Abby, we went to Rutherford's out Mint Rd. The # is 982-5891. Their strawberries are tastier and cost less than Maple Lane's. I've never been to the Fruit and Berry Patch. I think we called them last year and they were pretty expensive - but that may not have been the strawberries we called about, it could have been their peaches that were expensive.

  4. Looks wonderful! And WOW! If I didn't suspect if before, I now know for sure we don't live in the same "zone"--no strawberries ready around here for well over a month! :) But I've heard there are a surplus of strawberries this year--I've been buying them at the store for $.97 a quart--about 1/3 of the usual price!!!
